Title: Billings CanvasserStart Date: NegotiableStatus: Part-Time, Hourly, Seasonal to 11/7/25Report To: Billings Regional OrganizerMontana Conservation Voters is seeking well-organized CANVASSERS to engage voters one-on-one about a variety of vital issues important to protecting Montana as the Last Best Place. This boots-on-the-ground role would be great for a person who can lean into important conversations, has a passion for conservation, strong sense of organization, and the ability to work independently. MCV is currently hiring in Billings for canvassers for the upcoming municipal election cycle. JOB DESCRIPTION: CANVASSERBillings canvassers will empower Montanans and amplify their voices by engaging them at their doors during the current municipal election cycle. Canvassers will be part of a small team committed to protecting Montana values by electing pro-conservation candidates. This is an excellent opportunity for those wanting to get more engaged and shape the future of Montana. Job duties include, but are not limited to:Phone banking and knocking on voters doors to have guided conversations with Montanans about endorsed municipal candidates and conservation issuesWith training provided, entering accurate data about voters and conversations in the canvassing databaseBeing responsive to feedback from the Billings Regional Organizer and assisting with administrative tasks related to canvassingQUALIFICATIONSA strong commitment to MCVs mission and goalsExperience following detailed directions and seeking feedback proactively from their supervisorAbility to learn and share important information with the public with excellent attention to detailSelf-motivation and ability to problem solveClear verbal, written, and interpersonal skills within the canvassing team and with the publicAccess to reliable transportation AND a smartphone or tablet that can be used while canvassingAbility to work 20 to 39 hours per week, with evening and weekend availability strongly preferredCanvassers should plan to commit to a minimum of 20 hours weekly, but they may work no more than 39 hours weekly. Canvassers will work outside at least 80% of their workday and be on their feet walking for at least 80% of each work shift.
