Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area
- Operate various types of CNC machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements, may include basic program adjustments to meet quality and schedule requirements
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
- Demonstrate an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and basic print reading
- Performs basic daily maintenance or checks for machines
- Will make more complex program or tooling adjustments to produce conforming parts
- Operate a 2 axis lathe and hold .0005 tolerances
- Operate a 4th axis mill
- Perform First Part Inspections for all lathe and mill operations
- Mentor and assist colleagues in set ups or program adjustments
- Will make program or set up datasheet adjustments to master files for future use
- Other duties as necessary
SKILLS and ABILITIES - Computer skills (MS Office) and experience in ERP systems preferred
- Working knowledge of manufacturing principals, basic shop math, and basic blueprint reading
- Knowledge of hand tools and general inspection tools
- Ability to read and follow work orders, set up data sheets, and measurement instructions
- Ability to change some machine set ups (pallets, collets, etc.)
- Can perform diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshoot basic programming and machine issues
- Ability to change most machine set ups and update master programming and set up data sheets
- Willing and able to train colleagues with troubleshooting and adjusting machines and programs
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE - Previous experience in production and quality control methods (ISO9001, AS9100 etc.) preferred.
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred.
- Previous experience in manual or CNC machining preferred.
- Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs.
