Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design and be proficient in SolidWorks. The role involves working on mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on sheet metal, weldments, and ANSI drawing standards.
Exposure to FEA analysis and surfacing techniques is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design components and assemblies using sheet metal and weldment techniques.
• Apply ANSI/ASME drawing standards for proper dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs and revision history.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Review and apply weld callouts and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Assist in basic finite element analysis (FEA) and performance simulations.
• Support surfacing and cosmetic design aspects as needed.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous product improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the engineering team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Drawings modules.
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 and other relevant mechanical drafting standards.
• Basic understanding of FEA tools and surfacing techniques (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Internship or co-op experience in mechanical design is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with SolidWorks Simulation or other FEA tools.
• Exposure to GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles.
