Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Home Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing support to families during their time of need. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service while assisting with various tasks related to funeral services. This person must have a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Duties

• Provide bereavement support to families, offering comfort and assistance during their time of loss.
• Assist funeral directors in the planning and execution of funeral services, ensuring all details are handled with care and professionalism.
• Help with event planning for memorial services, including coordinating logistics and setting up churches/chapels for service.
• Perform heavy lifting as needed, including moving caskets, other equipment, and bodies.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment within the funeral home, ensuring all areas are presentable for families and guests.
• Support administrative tasks as required, including filing documents and managing records.
• Run Miscellaneous errands for the funeral home.

Experience

• Previous experience in bereavement support or a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with funeral directing practices is beneficial.
• Experience in event planning or coordination will be an asset.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical tasks associated with the role.
• Sales experience is a plus, particularly in a service-oriented environment. This position requires a sensitive approach and the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism at all times. • Flexible availability is a must. Funeral service is a 24/7 job, so we have to be available for anything. You will occasionally need to stay late, come in early, or come in on a day off.
