Position Summary Assist and inform the public on departmental policies and procedures; research, prepare, print, sort and/or file electronic police reports and perform a range of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED;
and Two (2) years of customer service or clerical experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid certified typing test issued by a state agency, county agency or an accredited educational institution with a minimum score of twenty-five (25) net WPM. Local typing tests may be taken Monday - Friday 8am to 3:30pm at the following locations: NM Workforce Connection, 501 Mountain Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102
OR Sandoval Workforce Connection, 301 Rail Runner Ave, Bernalillo, NM 87004.
Preferred Knowledge - Principles and practices of electronic filing, retrieval and processing of Law Enforcement Record
- Principles and practices of Cash Handling
- Principles and practices of Police Report Writing
- Principles and practices of customer service
- Office procedures, methods and equipment including computers and microfiche machines
- Principles and procedures of record keeping
- Basic mathematical principles
- Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation
- Pertinent Federal, State and local codes, laws and regulations
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Preferred Skills & Abilities - Provide a wide variety of assistance and information to customers
- Respond to requests and inquiries from Law Enforcement Officers and the public
- Perform a variety of mathematical calculations
- Maintain and update a variety of records and logs
