Unique opportunity for an experienced Director or Senior Account manager that specializes in fiber optics / broadband infrastructure projects. This is a new program with huge growth opportunity.

Summary of skills:

• Must have telecom, fiber, infrastructure, B2B sales process and reporting experience, critical thinker, and strategy oriented.
• Will be senior consultant before becoming full time employee with hiring client
• Hybrid - in the office/on work sites, candidate must be local, DMV area
• Conversion salary around $160-200 K
• First project is for 3 years
• Long sales cycle; relation driven (not a commissions role)
• Previous experience with companies that provide cable infrastructure, broadband, Network architecture, etc.
• Duties include working with local government officials and agencies, developing rate cards, selecting a CRM, developing an internal reporting structure, track rate of closures, and meet sales thresholds.

Project:

This is an infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing broadband connectivity and electric grid reliability across central Maryland. Allocated budget is over $30 million.

The project involves constructing approximately 70 route-miles of underground fiber optic cable through areas including Laurel, Elkridge, Columbia, Bowie, Glen Burnie, Linthicum, and Brooklyn Park . This infrastructure serves as a backbone, connecting major network hubs to local networks, thereby facilitating the expansion of high-speed internet to underserved communities. Beyond improving broadband access, the initiative aims to bolster electric grid resilience by connecting 20 electric substations to the new fiber network. This integration supports advanced monitoring, automation, and cybersecurity measures, and enables the incorporation of more renewable energy sources into the grid .

The project also plans to connect 50 anchor institutions, including a major University, 20 schools, two libraries, three healthcare providers, and several community centers and public safety facilities, enhancing their access to reliable high-speed internet.
