Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Coordinator / Safety Manager with experience in underground and overhead electrical utility work. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and utility safety standards, promote a strong safety culture on-site, and lead training, inspections, and incident investigations. This role is critical in protecting our teams and maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures specific to underground and overhead electrical operations.
• Conduct daily job site inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout, confined space, trenching, and energized equipment protocols.
• Monitor field crews to ensure safe work practices, especially around energized lines and excavation zones.
• Lead investigations for near-misses, incidents, and injuries, and maintain proper documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subpart V, NESC, and utility-specific safety guidelines.
• Coordinate emergency response planning and drills.
• Work closely with field supervisors, linemen, and underground crews to proactively mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of safety experience in electrical utility construction (overhead & underground).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, NESC, NFPA 70E, and relevant electrical safety codes.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment and energized systems.
